Delicious Ingredients: March 18, 2016
Each week I will publish the most Delicious Ingredients of my Audible Feast … the scrumptious, delectable, savory, rich, sweet, and spicy podcast episodes that have fed my ears this week. This will also allow me to link directly to episodes via either Soundcloud, Stitcher, or a podcast’s website (which are often amazing and contain bonus info or complementary stories). This also brings more visual content to my site as I can link to some beautiful logos and original artwork from these sites! All episode descriptions and artwork come from the linked sites. (Note: I also try to track every episode I listen to here.)
Reveal: Glare of the Spotlight (2/22/16): “Oscar season is upon us, and one of the best picture nominees is a film that hits pretty close to home for us at Reveal: “Spotlight.” In case you haven’t seen it yet, it’s a movie about The Boston Globe’s investigative team that exposed the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal. In this hour of Reveal, we’re going to take you behind the scenes of that investigation, look at the legacy of the groundbreaking story and see how other journalists went on to expose more crimes by Catholic priests around the world.”
The Brain Candy Podcast, Episode 36: Talkin’ Sh*t (3/14/16): “This episode was supposed to be about language and where words and phrases come from, but we got a little sidetracked and started talking a little sh*t. We discuss our beefs with Wes from MTV’s The Challenge and why Chet from The Real World Brooklyn is getting on our Twitter nerves. Plus, we tease a little behind-the-scenes info from the Rivals 3 Challenge coming up in May and how we’re going to celebrate the show.”
How to Be a Girl, Episode 9: School (Part I) (3/9/16): “This episode has been six months in the making, because that’s how long it took for this story to play out. It’s the story of my daughter entering second grade at a new school where we knew no one, almost no one knew her secret, and I had no idea how I was going to keep her safe.”
The Tell Show, Episode 1: Cheryl Strayed (2/11/16): “Let’s be honest: Your roommate did not buy that cereal for you.” Cheryl Strayed tells a story previously untold relating to stealing.
Women of the Hour, Episode 4: Work (12/3/15): “Lena talks about work with Zadie Smith, Mara Brock Akil, Jenni Konner and many more.” This is an older episode but I really loved it and just listened this week.
Only Human: The Science of Turning Her On (3/8/16): “The new “female Viagra” has been underwhelming. But researcher Nicole Prause is on a mission to find out what it takes for women to have better sex.”
