FIVE APM PODCASTS NOMINATED FOR WEBBY PEOPLE’S VOICE AWARDS
ST. PAUL, Minn., April 5, 2018 –Five podcasts from American Public Media have been nominated for the 22ndannual Webby People’s Voice Awards.
The APM podcasts nominated for this honor include Brains On!, Terrible, Thanks for Asking, 74 Seconds, The Uncertain Hour and The Dinner Party Download. All have been nominated for awards in the Podcasts & Digital Audio category.
“Only a small number of podcasts are nominated for the Webbys, so we’re thrilled to have five of our productions make the cut this year,” said Nathan Tobey, director, On Demand and National Cultural Programming at American Public Media. “This is recognition that APM has been pushing the envelope in the podcast realm, and it speaks to the quality and craft of what our producers have been doing and will continue to do in this space.”
Established in 1996, the Webbys are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) to honor excellence on the internet. Though the nominations were determined by members of IADAS, the Webby People’s Voice Awards are achieved by a public online poll, which runs through Thursday, April 19. Each year, the awards garner millions of votes from all over the world.
